So many indie game companies go for that 8-bit and 16-bit Nintendo look. Which is always cool; I've bought tons of games like that in the past and I know I'll continue to buy more of them. But few games ever go for that Sega Era look in their presentation. Freedom Planet is one other I can think of off the top of my head. And CSH goes the distance with a Sega CD look that is totally amazing and then tops off the whole experience with those sweet Sega CD anime cutscenes, like Lunar and Snatcher. Before I've even played the game, I'm all ready drawn to the universe as a classic Sega Fan Boy.
I've given many shout outs on this game through multiple podcasts including Old Man Orange and Indie Comix Club over the last year. But now that this game is out on Nintendo Switch, it can only be that much more awesome to grab. Switch to me, is the ultimate for retro and indie styled games. Perfect for playing on the TV and then having the ability to grab and go with you. I wish more games would come out on the Switch right off the bat instead of months or years later than other systems but better late than never.
If you're playing that other super sick, classically styled RPG at the moment, Octopath Traveler and are now looking for that next Switch game to strike your old school, turn based gaming needs? Look no further than Cosmic Star Heroine. And to top it all off, the gameplay comes in at a perfect time frame. Took me around 13 hours my first playthrough. Which the older I get, the more I love those shorter game length. All killer, no filler. And if you don't have a Nintendo Switch yet, no need to panic. It's on Steam, PlayStation 4, Vita and Xbox One. They've got you covered. And also look forward to a special edition physical copy coming to the Switch too.
